Short version: using Demades is free while we’re in early access. There’s a fair-use limit, described below, and we’d rather you read about it here than discover it. Separately, we make finished episodes for companies — that part is a paid service, and it’s the reason the free part can exist.

A full multi-host episode, roughly 10–20 minutes, with research, a script, cast voices, cover art and a transcript. Requires a sign-in so the work has somewhere to land.

The catch, stated plainly
- There is a fair-use ceiling on generating episodes, and it’s a spend budget rather than an episode counter. In practice it works out to roughly eight ten-minute episodes in any rolling 3-day window; a longer episode, or one with video or animation, costs more against it, so your number will differ. If you reach it, generation pauses and you get a plain message — “you’ve reached the free generation limit for now; limits reset on a rolling 3-day window” — never a surprise charge. A generation that fails costs you nothing.
- Why a ceiling at all: every episode spends real money on our side — speech synthesis, language-model calls, generated cover art. We’d rather cap it honestly than run a “free” product that quietly stops working.
- Free while we’re in early access — not “free forever.” We haven’t priced the consumer product, and we’re deliberately not pretending to have. If that changes, this page changes with it; it is the page we keep honest.
- Nothing in the app asks for a card. There is no trial countdown, no expiring credit balance, and no checkout in the product today.
- What you make is yours. Terms and privacy are the binding answer — terms, privacy, and our editorial policy for how episodes are made and disclosed.

- “Why give the tool away if you sell episodes for $99?” Because they’re aimed at different people. The paid service is a company buying finished work. The free app is you making your own. The first is what pays for the second right now, and we’d rather say that than invent a story about it.
- “Is this a trial?” No. Nothing expires, no countdown, no card on file. The only limit is the rolling fair-use ceiling above.
- “What happens to my episodes if you start charging?” We haven’t decided to, so we’re not going to describe a migration we haven’t designed. What we can say now: what you’ve already made stays yours, and this page will say what’s true on the day it changes.
- “Are the voices real people?” No — they’re synthetic, and every episode says so in its own audio and metadata. That’s the editorial policy, not a setting.
